The Legal Office Administration diploma program at the National Academy of Health and Business is designed to provide students with the necessary legal skills to work under the direction of lawyers, prosecutors or public defenders. Students will be introduced to the law office environment and its day-to-day operations, learning the ins and outs of the legal world. Students will learn the legal principles used in wills and estates, family law, civil litigation, corporate law, and real estate law, as well as countless other skills.
In addition, our curriculum includes comprehensive training in Microsoft office applications and has a heavy emphasis on business communications. Even if you’re just beginning in the world of office software, our training will get you up to speed in no time.
Our Legal Office Administration diploma program is designed to train individuals to work in a legal administrative role. That being said, it is important to know that the program will not prepare you to serve all the duties of a Paralegal. Although, it is true that the roles of a legal office and a Paralegal can, at times, be very similar, the length of training to become a paralegal usually consists of a year-long program. The Legal Office Administration diploma program is a 26 week program that will prepare students for rewarding administration work in legal offices.
Some of the skills and knowledge you’ll develop in the 26 week program at NAHB include:
- MS Windows
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- MS PowerPoint
- Business Communication
- General Law Office Procedures
- Wills and Estates
- Real Estate Law
- Civil Litigation
- Family Law
- Corporate and Commercial Law
- Principles of Canadian Law and Legal Terminology
Graduates of the Legal Office Administration diploma program at NAHB have gone on to find stable, rewarding employment in corporate law departments, small legal practices, attorney’s offices and more!
The Legal Office Administration diploma program is eligible for up to five different funding options, including the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), Employment Insurance, Second Career Payment Plans and even loans facilitated by us.
